Adultery
the Bible definition

Adultery is spoken of in Scripture
WITHOUT EXCEPTION in terms of sexual relations with a married woman.

(Lev. 20:10, Deut. 22:22, Lev. 18:20, Gen. 20, Job 31:1-12, Prov. 5, Prov. 6, Prov. 7, Jer. 5:7-9, Rom. 7:2-3, 1 Cor. 7:39). Consider woman & adultery in Matt.5:27-28.

It is always dependent upon the marital status of the WOMAN, never the man.

NOWHERE in Scripture is adultery addressed as an UNmarried woman having sexual relations with another woman’s husband.

That’s the raw empirical data of Scripture. Are we to countenance the notion that there is no significance to this fact?

A married man, however, who has sexual relations with an unbetrothed virgin or otherwise available woman, becomes married to the woman

(Exodus 22:16, Deut. 22:10-14, Deut. 21:10-14, Deut. 25:5-10).

Polygyny is not adultery, just simply marriage.

Those who wish to define adultery as EITHER spouse having sexual relations with another man or a woman must argue their case on a foundation of scriptural silence. In other words, they must make something out of thin air.

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
Deut.22:22

And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Lev.20:10

polygamy is not adultery, it is a divinely approved marriage.

if polygamy is adultery, then Abraham, Jacob, Gideon, David
and many other men and women were adulterers
